Feyenoord have taken up their option to sign SBV Excelsior's striker Andwelé Slory, who will join them on 1 July 2007. The 24-year-old, who was born in Surinam, has signed a two-year deal tying him to the club until 2009.
Strong campaign
Slory, whose terrific pace is one of his greatest attributes, started his career with second division side Stormvogels Telstar Combinatie in 2001 before joining Excelsior in the summer of 2005. He scored 14 goals and set up five more in 2005/06 to help Excelsior win promotion to the Eredivisie and has quickly taken to life at the top, scoring seven times already this campaign. Feyenoord will play Tottenham Hotspur FC in the UEFA Cup Round of 32 in February.
