Sevilla FC have been counting the cost of last night's Spanish Cup victory against Gimnástica Segoviana, with forward Jesús Navas sustaining a knee injury which will keep him out until the new year.
Cartilage damage
The 20-year-old came on in the 80th minute of the 3-0 second-leg success, which completed a 4-0 aggregate triumph, but took a knock which meant he ended the night in hospital. Although initial tests proved inconclusive, further examinations this morning revealed cartilage damage, sidelining the player for six to eight weeks. Sevilla top the Primera División after nine matches and have drawn their only UEFA Cup Group C outing to date.
