Sevilla FC will be without injured Brazilian striker Luis Fabiano when they kick off their defence of the UEFA Cup in the first round against Greek side Atromitos FC on Thursday.
Calf problem
Luis Fabiano pulled his right calf muscle during training today and will need between three and four days to recover. Luis Fabiano's headed goal midway through the first half of the UEFA Cup final in Eindhoven last May set Sevilla on their way to an emphatic 4-0 victory against Middlesbrough FC and their first European trophy.
Injury troubles
Sevilla will also be without the injured Javi Navarro (pulled muscle), Enzo Maresca (left Achilles tendon), who scored twice in the final, and Ernesto Chevantón (back) while Adriano Correia has not travelled with the squad.
