Beşiktaş JK have increased their Brazilian contingent to four with the signing of FIFA World Cup winner Ricardinho from SC Corinthians Paulista on a two-year contract.

High hopes
The 30-year-old admitted to discussing the move with his compatriots before making the switch to Istanbul. "I spoke to Kleberson, Bobo and Márcio Nobre about Beşiktaş and have also researched the club on the internet in the last ten days. Our initial focus is the Turkish league and then we have the UEFA Cup to look forward to. We hope to achieve a lot."

Much travelled
Ricardinho, who helped Brazil lift the 2002 World Cup and made two substitute appearances at this summer's finals, has also played for Paraná Clube, São Paulo FC and Santos FC in Brazil. On this continent, he had a one-season stay at FC Girondins de Bordeaux in 1997/98 and a brief loan spell at Middlesbrough FC in 2003.
