AS Livorno Calcio have signed veteran midfielder Antonio Filippini on a free transfer from Treviso FC as they prepare for their UEFA Cup debut.
Two-year deal
The 33-year-old, who has agreed a two-year deal, played for Brescia Calcio between 1996 and 2004 before joining US Città di Palermo and S.S. Lazio. He subsequently moved on to Treviso for the 2005/06 campaign but failed to help the north-east team avoid relegation. Livorno finished ninth in Serie A but were pushed up the table following punishments to Juventus, ACF Fiorentina and S.S. Lazio in the sporting-fraud scandal.
