Club Brugge KV have lost Jonathan Blondel for both legs of their UEFA Cup tie with AS Roma next month.
European experience
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder suffered an ankle ligament injury in training last Thursday and the club learned today that he will be out of action for six weeks. Blondel made four appearances in this season's UEFA Champions League but could not help the Belgian club prolong their involvement in Europe's premier club competition. After switching to the UEFA Cup, Club Brugge will take on Roma over two legs in the Round of 32 on 15 and 23 February.
