Youthful promise
A product of the Rennes academy, the 20-year-old has won 14 France Under-21 caps, scoring 14 goals, and is one of his country's most promising forwards. He made his Ligue 1 debut in 2002/03 and has registered two league goals in 28 appearances.
High hopes
Briand said: "My aim is to establish myself at the heart of the Rennes attack." Rennes general manager Pierre Dréossi added: "With this extension, we have shown that we are relying on him for the present and will continue to do so in the future."
