Lokomotiv capture Had signature

FC Lokomotiv Moskva have signed versatile Slovakia defender Marián Had from Czech Republic side 1. FC Brno for an undisclosed fee.

Versatile signing
The 23-year-old will arrive at Lokomotiv from 1. FC Brno in time for the start of the 2006 campaign, although the Moscow outfit have not disclosed any further details. Had, who can play at left-back or in central defence, has impressed for Czech First Division strugglers Brno since joining from MFK Ružomberok midway through last season.

Slovakian presence
But it is on the international stage that he came to the fore, winning 12 caps for Slovakia, although the last ended in disappointment when he was sent off against Spain in a 5-1 defeat in the FIFA World Cup play-offs. Lokomotiv are no strangers to setbacks after being edged into third place in Russia's Premier-Liga by FC Spartak Moskva on the final day of term.

UEFA Cup hopes
Vladimir Eshtrekov's side could yet salvage something from their season in the UEFA Cup. Lokomotiv lie second in Group B and will seal a place in the knockout rounds with victory against Maccabi Petach-Tikva FC on 30 November. Had will be unavailable until the latter stages of the competition.
