Two-year contract
The 22-year-old, who has two senior caps for Finland in addition to eleven for the Under-21s, has agreed a two-year deal with the Dutch Eredivisie outfit.
UEFA Cup ineligibility
Tarvajärvi started out at FC Jokerit, scoring eleven goals in 39 league appearances before moving to MyPa in 2004. He managed only three league goals in two seasons, however, and will hope for better in the Netherlands. The Finn must sit out Heerenveen's forthcoming UEFA Cup campaign, kicking off with a first-round tie against FC Baník Ostrava, having played for MyPa in the qualifying rounds.
