Chanko goes to AEK

AEK Athens have signed attacking midfield player Louay Chanko from Swedish champions Malmö FF.

AEK Athens FC have signed attacking midfielder Louay Chanko from Swedish champions Malmö FF for an undisclosed fee.

'Great move'
The 25-year-old joins the Greek club, who finished third in the Ethniki Kategoria last season, in the hope of boosting his international chances with Sweden. "It's a great move for me and hopefully I will develop and show everyone what I'm capable of," the 25-year-old said.

European goal
Chanko joined Malmö from Djurgårdens IF in 2003 and had been a regular in the side, but recently fell out of favour. AEK kick off their UEFA Cup campaign in the first round on 15 September.
