Frei 'delighted'
Last season’s top Ligue 1 scorer with 20 goals, the 26-year-old helped his team to fourth place and UEFA Cup qualification, and had been linked with a number of clubs. "I have been playing in Rennes for two-and-a-half years and I feel very good here," the former Servette FC, FC Luzern, FC Thun and FC Basel 1893 player said. "I'm delighted to extend my contract."
'Good news'
General manager Pierre Dréossi added: "It is very good news for Stade Rennais. We always claimed that our policy was to retain our best players." Rennes' UEFA Cup campaign begins in September's first round.
