Two-year deal
The 31-year-old forward joins from Pachuca FC for a €1.4m fee and has agreed a two-year contract, becoming the first Mexican to play in the English Premiership. His tally of 35 goals for his country, including two in the 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup third-place play-off defeat by Germany, is only matched by Carlos Hermosillo and Luis Hernández.
'Excellent pedigree'
Bolton manager Sam Allardyce said: "We are just waiting for the all-clear on the medical. His pedigree is excellent but the Premiership is still unknown to him and he will have to be at his best to make the impact we are looking for." Bolton's UEFA Cup campaign starts in the first round.
