Stiff competition
The 33-year-old was released by Leicester City FC at the end of last season and has agreed a one-year contract. He will provide competition for the Bolton No1 jersey, with Finnish international Jussi Jaaskelainen currently the man in possession.
Allardyce delight
Walker was capped four times by England and spent ten seasons at Tottenham Hotspur FC before transferring to Leicester in 2001. He will join his new team-mates today before they embark on a pre-season tour of Thailand and Japan on Sunday. Bolton manager Sam Allardyce said: "I am delighted we have acquired a goalkeeper of Ian Walker's ability."
