Article body
Danish international Jon Dahl Tomasson has joined Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart from AC Milan for a fee thought to be around €7.5m.
Milan medals
The 28-year-old will finalise a four-year deal with this season's UEFA Cup hopefuls after a medical before joining his new team-mates at their training camp in Austria early next week. The move ends a successful spell at the San Siro for Tomasson, picking up winners' medals in the UEFA Champions League, Serie A and the Coppa Italia in a three-year spell after joining from Feyenoord.
Kuranyi loss
But he has never been able to establish a place in the starting eleven, completing 90 minutes in just five of his 30 league appearances last term and, with the 2006 FIFA World Cup on the horizon, he has decided it is time to move on. He will now replace Kevin Kuranyi at the Gottleib-Daimler-Stadion, following the German international's switch to FC Schalke 04 last month.
Proven quality
"Tomasson is an internationally experienced forward who has proved his outstanding class in Italy," new Stuttgart coach Giovanni Trapattoni said. "We are convinced he will strengthen our squad."
