Diouf delighted at Bolton switch

Bolton Wanderers FC have secured the permanent signing of Senegalese forward El Hadji Diouf from Liverpool FC.

European first
The 24-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Bolton, has agreed a four-year stay at the Reebok stadium. Diouf, who joined Liverpool in June 2002 for €15m, scored nine goals in 27 English Premiership appearances in 2004/05, helping Bolton to a sixth-placed finish and a first UEFA Cup qualification.

'Significant signing'
After completing the deal for an undisclosed fee, Bolton manager Sam Allardyce said: "I am thrilled that El Hadji is joining us on a permanent contract. He has all the skill in the world to become one of our most significant signings in the modern era of this great club." Diouf added that the transfer was "wonderful news", describing Allardyce as "the best manager I've ever worked with".
