CSKA rest up for semi-final

Another blank weekend enabled CSKA to prepare for the visit of Parma FC, who were held to a goalless draw in Italy last week. The second leg promises to be a less cagey affair - CSKA may be without an away win in this season's competition but they have scored eight times without conceding on home soil.

Four-goal haul
Goals were in abundance for Parma on Sunday, Alberto Gilardino registering four in an incredible 6-4 victory against AS Livorno Calcio. The win - a fantastic advert for the attacking, if not the defensive arts - took Pietro Carmignani's side clear of the Serie A relegation zone with four matches remaining.

Duo doubtful
Carmignani has made no secret of his priorities this term, often turning to promising youngsters in the UEFA Cup as Parma's domestic campaign failed to gather momentum. Domenico Morfeo played alongside the in-form Gilardino at the weekend, although neither is expected to travel to Russia.

Moscow hope
Knee problems may also prevent Marco Marchionni and Vincenzo Grella making the trip, while hamstring injuries to Stefano Bettarini and Damiano Ferronetti look certain to rule them out of the tie, which could pave the way for CSKA to become Moscow's first European finalist since FC Dinamo Moskva lost to Rangers FC in the 1972 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup.
