AJ Auxerre could be without Arnaud Gonzalez for the rest of the season after it was confirmed that the striker had sustained a cruciate ligament injury in Thursday's UEFA Cup goalless draw with LOSC Lille Métropole.
Two months out
The 27 year old completed the Round of 16 second leg tie despite partially rupturing the ligament, but scans carried out on Friday revealed the seriousness of the injury and he is expected to miss the next two months at least.
CSKA test
Gonzalez, a product of the Auxerre youth academy, has made five UEFA Cup appearances this season and played ten times in the league, scoring once. Auxerre, fourth in Ligue 1, will play PFC CSKA Moskva in the quarter-finals.
