Entered field of play
Caparrós was sent to the stands in the 90th minute of the Round of 32 return match for encroaching on to the field of play, having already left his technical area on several occasions against the advice of the fourth official. Sevilla won the game 2-0 to progress 2-1 on aggregate. The 49-year-old coach will now have to watch the first leg of Sevilla's last 16 tie against Parma FC, also at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán stadium, from the stands.
Club official fined
UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Body also punished a Sevilla official for putting undue pressure on the fourth official during the same match. Christopher Sorian has been fined €650 for entering the area of the touchline usually reserved for the fourth official. Sevilla have no right of appeal in either case.
