Keyhole surgery
Pablo hurt his right knee during last week's cup tie against CA Osasuna but it was initially thought he had just strained the cruciate ligament. However, an MRI scan has revealed a tear and the 23-year-old will undergo keyhole surgery on the problem.
Del Nido boost
Despite Pablo's injury, Sevilla chairman José María Del Nido said the club would still be handing the player an extension to his contract. "We want to send Pablo a message of encouragement at this time," he said. "We feel that he will succeed here at Sevilla – if not this season, then the next."
