Athens return
The Scottish Premier League side have not disclosed details of the move, although the 25-year-old centre-back is believed to have cost a fee in the region of €2.5m and agreed a three-and-a-half year contract. Kyrgiakos, however, will not be available for Sunday's game against Aberdeen FC, as he has returned to Athens, but will fly back to Scotland next week.
International experience
Kyrgiakos has ten caps for the Greek national team but missed out on their UEFA EURO 2004™ triumph, ironically after sustaining a cruciate ligament injury in a UEFA Champions League match against Rangers in October 2003. He is expected to replace Jean-Alain Boumsong, who joined Newcastle United FC from Rangers earlier this month.
