Renewed terms
The 29-year-old right-back was due to become a free agent in the summer but has now committed himself to the Primera División team. Venta, who joined Villarreal from CD Tenerife in 2002, becomes the second player to agree renewed terms with the club in 24 hours after Josico signed a new two-year deal.
Professional contract
The club have also handed promising defender César Arzo his first professional contract, which will run until 30 June 2007. Arzo, who will turn 19, on Saturday is considered one of the most exciting players to have emerged from Villarreal's youth team programme and was part of the Spain side that finished runners-up to France in last year's UEFA European Under-17 Championship.
