"Everything has always gone well for me here," said a delighted Daf after extending his stay in France. "I'll try to carry on." The 28-year-old international arrived at the Auguste Bonal stadium in 1997 and is the club's second longest serving player after captain Mickaël Isabey.

Sochaux sporting director Bernard Genghini said: "He's a key player. He's as influential off the pitch as on it." The new deal is a timely boost for Daf as he has been plagued by muscle injuries during the current campaign, although he has still managed to play a major part in the club's run to the last 32 of the UEFA Cup.
