'Happy for Toni'
The former Austrian international, who had previously been working in Mönchengladbach's marketing department, decided to leave Germany despite having a contract at the club until 2007. Mönchengladbach agreed to terminate his contract with general manager Stephan Schippers saying: "We are happy for Toni because it is a huge opportunity for him. At the same time we are sad because we will lose a valuable colleague."
Three-year deal
Polster told uefa.com: "Austria has always been close to my heart because I started my career there." He confirmed that he had signed a three-year contract with the UEFA Cup contenders, who take on Athletic Club Bilbao in their next European tie in February.
