The 28-year-old Argentinian midfielder joined Sochaux in 2001 from FC Gueugnon, the club he helped win the 1999/00 French League Cup while in the second division. Last season Trapasso again lifted the League Cup with Sochaux, but he has not played since August because of a cruciate ligament injury which will sideline him until spring. He originally moved to France from CA Newell's Old Boys in 1999.
Newcastle fixture
Sochaux lie third in UEFA Cup Group D having won their opening fixture 2-0 away to FC Dinamo Tbilisi. They next welcome Newcastle United FC on 25 November.
