McLeish takes nothing for granted

Group F: Rangers FC are in form but manager Alex McLeish knows Grazer AK will be hard to beat.

Winning form
Rangers have failed to win just one of their last 14 games in all competitions yet GAK boast a proud recent record themselves, having lost one of their last ten. That run contains only two away wins, however, something which Walter Schachner's group leaders will be keen to improve on.

'Take nothing for granted'
With that in mind, McLeish, who will field Robert Malcolm in place of the suspended Alex Rae, warned: "They are no mugs and we have to remember they went to Anfield and beat Liverpool [FC] earlier in the season. That's a measure of the quality of the teams in Europe and we have to make sure we don't take anyone for granted."

Freezing conditions
Elsewhere, Eredivisie high-flyers AZ Alkmaar can put one foot in the last 32 with victory in Poland against KS Amica Wronki, bottom of the group after leaking eight goals in two games. "We need to win this one," said Alkmaar coach Co Adriaanse, who voiced his fear of the freezing conditions: "On a bad pitch the speed runs out of our game and that is not good for our style of play."

Striker's drive
Alkmaar striker Ali Elkhattabi, who suffers from a fear of flying, will be driven the 1,100 kilometres to Wronki but is likely to start on the bench. Meanwhile, Amica coach Maciej Skorza hinted there could be a starting place for 17-year-old midfielder Filip Burkhardt, who scored the only goal in the weekend win against KS Cracovia. However, right-back Pawel Skrzypek is injured.
