Middlesbrough FC midfield player James Morrison has signed a new three-and-a-half year contract with the UEFA Cup contenders.
Senior success
The 18-year-old, who has scored twice in nine appearances for the senior side this season, including a late equaliser against FC Baník Ostrava in the UEFA Cup first-round second leg, helped the English side's youth team defeat Aston Villa FC in last season's FA Youth Cup final.
'Dream come true'
"I couldn't be happier at Boro so it was an easy decision to make," said the Darlington-born player. "I'm getting my chance in the first team. It's a dream come true. Steve McClaren has shown a lot of trust in me and that really boosted my confidence."
Two victories
Middlesbrough, who are also in talks with another 18-year-old, defender Tony McMahon, about a contract extension, have won both their games to date in UEFA Cup Group E, and visit Villarreal CF tonight.
