Mladenovic to miss Marítimo match

Rangers FC midfield player Dragan Mladenovic has been ruled out for three weeks with strained knee ligaments.

Rangers FC midfield player Dragan Mladenovic has been ruled out for three weeks after straining knee ligaments in Sunday's 1-0 win against Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC.

'Better than first feared'
The Serbo-Montenegrin international has been dogged by injury since moving to Ibrox from FK Crvena Zvezda during the summer and has made only three starts for the Glasgow outfit this season. Rangers manager Alex McLeish confirmed: "He has been for a scan and it revealed it's not too serious. He's likely to be out for about three weeks, which is better than we first feared."

Injury concerns
Nevertheless, Mladenovic will miss the return leg of Rangers' UEFA Cup first-round tie against CS Marítimo on 30 September. Defender Maurice Ross and Croatian forward Dado Pršo are also struggling with groin and hamstring injuries respectively, but are expected to return in time for next Thursday, as the side attempt to overturn a 1-0 deficit.
