Sikora agrees Heerenveen switch

SC Heerenveen have signed Dutch international winger Victor Sikora on a one-year loan from rivals AFC Ajax.

Koeman decision
The 26-year-old is under contract at Ajax until 2006, but has not been a regular under coach Ronald Koeman since following him from SBV Vitesse to Amsterdam in 2002. Sikora said: "I do not blame Koeman for anything. I realised it was not easy for him to tell me I could leave; I was the one who decided to move."

UEFA Cup campaign
Heerenveen's UEFA Cup campaign begins in the first round, scheduled for 16 and 30 September. They opened their 2004/05 league programme on Saturday by drawing 1-1 with AZ Alkmaar.
