Free agent
The 31-year-old, formerly with AFC Ajax and AC Milan, was a free agent after his contract at FC Barcelona expired earlier this summer. He helped the Dutch reach the semi-finals of UEFA EURO 2004™, before being knocked out by hosts Portugal. In all, he has been capped over 70 times by his counry.

Viduka signing pending
Middlesbrough have qualified for the 2004/05 UEFA Cup having won the English League Cup last season. They begin their campaign in the first round and are expected to further boost their squad soon by completing the signing of striker Mark Viduka from Leeds United AFC.
