Torn ligaments
Acuña tore ankle ligaments yesterday and faces at least three weeks on the sidelines. He turned his ankle during training and was subsequently taken to hospital where x-rays confirmed he had torn medial and lateral ligaments.
Race to be fit
Acuña now faces a race to be fit for Feyenoord's opening league match against De Graafschap on 15 August, although he should definitely be back in action when Feyenoord enter the UEFA Cup first round in September.
