Article body
Silvio Baldini has been announced as the new coach of Serie A team Parma AC.
Replaces Prandelli
He takes over from Cesare Prandelli who joined AS Roma last month. Despite huge financial worries off the pitch, Prandelli and Parma had an excellent season in Serie A, finishing fifth and qualifying for the UEFA Cup.
Great tactician
Baldini is regarded as one of the best tacticians in Italy after his exploits at Empoli FC the season before last. The 45-year-old kept the Tuscan side in the top flight and earned a move to Serie B side US Città di Palermo last summer. He left in January, but the club went on to secure promotion. Baldini has also had spells coaching at AC Chievo Verona and Brescia Calcio.
