The 21-year-old centre-back had impressed with Tunisian side Club Africain and also made a name for himself as his country won the 2004 African Cup of Nations in January. "We have been watching Saidi in the past few months and he was very eager to come and play at Feyenoord," said Feyenoord technical manger Mark Wotte.
Gullit happy
"He is a real defender and that is something we need," added the new Feyenoord coach Ruud Gullit who has just taken charge after finishing his spell as coach of the Netherlands Under-19 side. Feyenoord finished third in the 2003/04 Eredivisie and will compete in next season's UEFA Cup.
