Brøndby buoyed by Retov deal

Danish leaders Brøndby IF have agreed a new contract with midfield player Martin Retov.

Danish league leaders Brøndby IF have agreed a new contract with key midfield player Martin Retov.

Denmark debut
The 23-year-old, who made his international debut on Denmark's recent tour of the United States, joined Brøndby in summer 2002 from Køge BK. His new deal will expire on 31 December 2007. Brøndby lead the Superliga by three points from Esbjerg fB and face FC Barcelona in the UEFA Cup third round.

'Further development'
"I am glad that we have reached an agreement and I am looking forward to developing further here," said Retov. "Of course, I would like to go abroad some time, but for now I'll take things slowly. Right now I simply hope to play well for the next couple of years, and if I am good enough at that time, I hope to get the opportunity to test my talent at a foreign club."
