Article body
Brazilian striker Adriano has left troubled Parma AC and returned to FC Internazionale in a deal worth more than €20m.
Early move
The 21-year-old, who had been a joint-property of the two clubs, was expected to play at the Tardini stadium until the end of this season. However, with Parma in financial difficulties, Inter have paid them €20m to buy Adriano outright, as well as loaning Nigerian Isah Eliakwu and Romanian Ianis Zicu to the Gialloblù until the end of the season.
Prolific at Parma
Adriano's contract with Inter will run until 2008. He first arrived in Milan in 2001, playing eight Serie A matches for the Nerazzurri and scoring one goal, before joining AC Fiorentina on loan the following season and then Parma the next. At the Tardini stadium he scored 22 goals in 36 Serie A games.
Ineligible for Europe
Inter are currently eleven points behind Serie A leaders AS Roma and will face French side FC Sochaux-Montbéliard in the UEFA Cup third round on 26 February and 3 March. Adriano, however, will not be eligible for the tie having already played in the same competition with Parma.
