Article body
Brøndby IF have handed contract extensions to goalkeeper Casper Ankergren and midfield player Kim Daugaard.
'Happy at Brøndby'
Despite losing his No1 status to Karim Zaza this season, Ankergren has opted to remain with the Danish league leaders until summer 2006. "I am happy to be at Brøndby, who are one of Denmark's best clubs," the 24-year-old said.
Injury free
Meanwhile, Daugaard has extended his deal until summer 2007. "I am glad we reached an agreement before Christmas," he said. "I do not know if this is my last contract. Although I am close to turning 30, I feel better than I have done for a long time - I am finally free of the injuries I had back in the spring."
Barcelona encounter
Brøndby will play FC Barcelona in the third round of the UEFA Cup after beating FC Schalke 04 on penalties in the previous round. The first leg in Denmark takes place on 26 February.
