Torn ligament
The 20-year-old midfield player partially tore a ligament in his right knee during a training session and, although he will not require surgery, he has been ruled out until the end of the year. The injury means he will miss the second leg of his side's UEFA Cup first-round tie against Malatyaspor next Wednesday, with his side leading 2-0 from the first leg in Turkey.

The Argentinian player joined the runaway Swiss league leaders in the summer from Chacarita Juniors He impressed when playmaker Hakan Yakin was sidelined with groin trouble, helping Basel to an incredible start to the season which has seen them win their first 13 domestic games.
