Article body
Zambian striker Mwape Miti scored twice late on in Odense BK's 3-0 defeat of FC TVMK Tallinn in Estonia on Thursday, ensuring qualification for the UEFA Cup courtesy of a 4-1 aggregate victory.
Second-half goals
TVMK were hopeful of becoming only the second ever Estonian side after FC Lantana Tallinn to reach the UEFA Cup proper following a 1-1 draw away a fortnight ago but were undone by three second-half goals.
Stern resistance
TVMK put up stern resistance before the break and coach Sergei Ratnikov's decision to play five at the back, using top scorer Andrei Krolov as a makeshift sweeper, appeared to be paying off despite intense pressure from the visitors.
Different story
It was a different story in the second half. The Danish side came out determined to make a breakthrough and goalkeeper Sergei Ussoltsev was called upon to make a string of fine saves. He remained firm until the 68th minutes, when Søren Berg converted Thomas Lindrup's cross.
Miti double
Miti, however, made the tie safe with two goals in the final ten minutes. He combinined to great effect on both occasions with Berg, whose accurate crosses were tucked away with considerable glee.
