Ghali finds home at Feyenoord

Feyenoord have snapped up Egyptian international midfield player Hossam Ghali on a four-year contract.

Versatile performer
Ghali has been training with the Rotterdam club for a week, and Feyenoord coach Bert van Marwijk has been more than impressed by the 22-year-old. As well as his midfield capabilities, Ghali can also operate as a central defender.

Midfield strength
Feyenoord president Jorien van den Herik, who had travelled to Cairo a fortnight ago to discuss a possible move, completed the transfer with Ghali's club Al Ahly this morning. He becomes the UEFA Cup contenders' third midfield signing in a week after the arrivals of Gill Swerts and Alfred Schreuder.

Delighted with switch
"I have been given the chance to see how the real professionals work," Ghali said. "Everything here is geared towards the goal of making you play as well as possible. Now all is want is to play for Feyenoord."
