One-year deal
The 27-year-old has agreed a one-year contract with the option of a further year having left another Turkish team, Gaziantepspor, last month after failing to agree a new deal. "I am very happy about moving to Trabzonspor," he said. "I am not 100 per cent fit but I am aiming to be ready for the Fenerbahçe [SK] match next week."
Positive thinking
Trabzonspor general secretary Yusuf Ziya Yilmaz was delighted to have signed the player as the new season kicks off this weekend. "Now we feel more confident about our goals and this season we will be more successful in the league," he said.
Turkish experience
Romaschenko has been in Turkey since a transfer to Gaziantepspor in 2000/01. He scored seven goals in 22 games last term. The striker has also made 34 international apperances for Belarus in a career which has seen action with FC Dnepr-Transmash Mogilev, FC Slavia Mozyr and Russian side FC Dinamo Moskva.
