Feyenoord's Schreuder investment

Feyenoord have replaced Paul Bosvelt by signing NAC Breda's Alfred Schreuder for an undisclosed fee.

'A big club'
Central midfield player Schreuder, who was a Feyenoord trainee but made just one first-team appearance at De Kuip, has put pen to paper on a three-year contract. The 30-year-old said: "I was going to leave [NAC] for only one club and that was Feyenoord. I want to know my limit and I will get that chance at a big club like Feyenoord."

Back home
Schreuder had been set to join FK Austria Wien last week but pulled out of a move and now returns to his first professional club. He has been earmarked as a replacement for Paul Bosvelt, who recently left Feyenoord for England's Manchester City FC, in Bert van Marwijk's side. Schreuder spent six years at NAC, having previously played for RKC Waalwijk.
