Dream move
The 24-year-old is among the leading scorers in the Brazilian league at present, with 15 goals from 40 matches. "To come to Europe is a dream for me and I leave Cruzeiro with the feeling I've done well," he said. As Deivid has been on loan at Cruzeiro from Nova Iguaçu, the latter club will earn €4.5m from the deal with Cruzeiro receiving a €890,000 compensation payment.
Tough task
Deivid faces the tough task of replacing Pauleta at Bordeaux. The Portuguese striker top scored twice for the club in Ligue 1 before moving to Paris Saint-Germain FC earlier this month. After finishing fourth last season Bordeaux are hoping for European success next season in the UEFA Cup.
