FC Porto virtually booked their place in the second round of the UEFA Cup with a commanding display against KP Polonia Warsaw in the first leg at the Das Antas stadium.
Deco shines
Brazilian midfield player Deco was the star of the game and had a hand in nearly all of the goals for José Mourinho's team. Deco set up Lithuania striker Edgaras Jankauskas for the opening goal in the 19th minute before Derlei gave the hosts a 2-0 half-time lead with a 36th-minute effort.
Jankauskas backheel
Porto stunned the Polish side with two more goals in a minute not long after the restart, Maniche scoring on 55 minutes and Jankauskas converting with his backheel less than 60 seconds later from Capucho's cross.
Postiga double
Hélder Postiga came on for the Lithuanian Jankauskas and helped himself to two goals to seal the rout, on 69 and 89 minutes. Polonia were no match for the Portuguese who are likely to rest players for the second leg in Warsaw on 3 October.
