Nothing to fear

Celta dominate
Celta dominated the first half but the ball would just not go in for them, with Aleksandr Mostovoi and Peter Luccin both spurning several chances to give their side the lead. Odense threatened briefly when Jan Sønksen headed wide from Andrew Tembo's cross, but it was one of few moments of danger.

Catanha opener
Celta, who beat RCD Mallorca in the Primera División at the weekend, came out after the interval determined to break their duck, putting pressure on the Odense goal from the outset. Midfield player Jesuli hit the woodwork with a right-footed shot on 48 minutes and then set up Catanha for the decisive goal, the Brazilian burying a precise centre from 15 metres.

McCarthy doubles lead
And McCarthy, on as a substitute for Catanha, doubled the Vigo team’s lead four minutes later with a header from Gustavo López's cross. The former FC Porto player almost added a third in stoppage-time, but his left-foot shot was saved by goalkeeper Karim Zaza.
