Article body
Real Betis Balompié striker Daniel 'Dani' Martín faces around six months out after breaking down with another knee injury.
Same knee
The youngster has suffered a second injury to his right knee having only recently recovered from an earlier problem dating back to April. Scans have revealed that Dani requires surgery on damaged cruciate ligaments and Betis's medical staff estimate the recovery time at around six months.
Impressive first season
The 21-year-old, who suffered the original injury during a league match against CD Tenerife, damaged the same knee during pre-season training with his club in Montecastillo. These injuries have interrupted Dani’s rise to prominence following an impressive first season in 2001/02. A product of the Seville club's youth scheme, Dani started last season in the club's third division team before being elevated to the first team by head coach Juande Ramos.
