Micoud makes his move

France midfield player Johan Micoud has finalised a move to SV Werder Bremen from Parma AC.

Micoud misery
The transfer ends a frustrating spell for the former FC Girondins de Bordeaux and AS Cannes midfield player, who made 47 league appearances over two seasons in Serie A and last term won the Italian Cup.

'Top class'
Bremen had made no secret of their interest in the 29-year-old, and their coach Thomas Schaaf said: "Johan Micoud is a top-class player who can hold the ball up and improve our way of playing." The Weserstadion club lie 13th in the German championship.

International pedigree
Micoud, who has 15 caps, was left out of the France squad for next month's EURO 2004™ qualifier against Tunisia. He could be joined at Bremen by countrymen Eric Rabesandratana and Gilles Grimandi.
