Article body
Leeds United AFC have agreed a three-year deal with Australian international midfield player Paul Okon.
Monday medical
The 30-year-old agreed to join the English FA Premiership club on Friday after having tests, and should complete the move to Elland Road on Monday providing he passes a medical.
Free transfer
Leeds manager Terry Venables worked with Okon when he was coach of the Australian national team and had targeted the hard-working player to provide extra cover in midfield. The former AC Fiorentina, S.S. Lazio and Club Brugge KV player is available on a free transfer after being released by Premiership rivals Middlesbrough FC last season.
Barmby arrival
Okon will become Venables' second signing, after the €4.35m purchase of 28-year-old English international midfield player Nick Barmby from Liverpool FC on Thursday.
