Blazevic puts it in writing

At 66, Miroslav Blazevic has signed his first ever professional contract with NK Dinamo Zagreb.

Former Croatia coach Miroslav Blazevic has signed his first ever professional contract as he begins his second spell in charge of NK Dinamo Zagreb, Croatia's cup winners.

Verbal agreements
After a lengthy executive board session yesterday, Dinamo president Mirko Barisic announced that Blazevic would stay with the club for two years. Until now the 66-year-old - who will lead Dinamo into this season's UEFA Cup - has always worked on verbal agreements, which is still largely the case for most coaches in eastern Europe.

Legend in Croatia
"We have made clear to him that not winning the title this season will be considered a failure," Barisic said. Blazevic is a legend in Croatian football. He took Croatia to third place in the 1998 FIFA World Cup and subsequently coached the Iranian national team from 2000 until the beginning of this year.

Quick tongue
In March, Blazevicec, who is known for his bad temper and quick tongue, returned to Croatia to take charge of NK Osijek, but after a row with the club left and accepted the challenge of a return to Dinamo.
