Fond farewell to Feyenoord 
The 25-year-old makes his farewell appearance after four years at the Feijenoord stadium. He could not have picked a better occasion. "All you can do as a footballer is concentrate on the match," the former SC Heerenveen and Newcastle United FC player said. "I know how important it is for the players and the club and also for the fans in Rotterdam."

'We've been brilliant'
If Tomasson's first term brought the Dutch league title to Feyenoord, his last could be crowned by the club's first European trophy since 1974. Already they have captured the public imagination with wins against Rangers FC, PSV Eindhoven and Internazionale FC, in the semi-finals. "The things we have done in Europe this season have been brilliant," he said. "We played a really good game [in the first leg] at the San Siro. The team spirit is very important. That is our major strength, working for each other. Hopefully it will work tomorrow. We will try our best."

Praise for Dortmund
Tomasson scored the second, decisive goal in the 2-2 draw with Inter that secured a 3-2 aggregate success. Now only German champions Dortmund can deny him a dream send-off on his home ground. "It [home advantage] cannot be bad for us, but at the end of the day we still have to play against a good team. I've had a great time at Feyenoord but now it's time to try something new."

World Cup hopes
The Korean Republic will be Tomasson's first port of call after he links up with Morten Olsen's national squad next week. How long he gets to spend there is a moot point. "It is so difficult to say how we will do," Tomasson said. "We've got some great players but our squad is not that big. If everybody is fit we've got a chance of doing well. If we get injuries it will be a problem for us."

First things first
Of his free transfer to Milan, he added: "I'm very excited and looking forward to a new challenge. It is perfect for me. Of course, I am really excited about playing for the greatest club in Europe but first there's the UEFA Cup final then the World Cup. Then I will think about Milan."
