Milan AC have signed Brazilian defender Clayton from Campo Grande FC for €700,000, the Serie A club said on Thursday.
Former apprentice
The 18-year-old, whose full name is Machado Dos Santos Clayton, has signed a contract through to June 2006. Clayton played in Italy during the 2000/01 season when he was an apprentice at Bologna FC, who declined to buy him after he suffered a knee injury.
Roda up next
Provided he is registered before the end of the month, Clayton will be eligible to play in the UEFA Cup. Milan face Dutch side Roda JC in round four in February.
