Forward Marco Simone has returned to Milan AC on loan from AS Monaco FC until the end of the season, the Serie A club said on their offical website on Wednesday.
Spell in France
The 32-year-old striker left the San Siro for Paris Saint-Germain FC in 1997, after winning four Serie A titles, the European Champions Clubs' Cup twice and scoring 40 goals in 168 league appearances. After two seasons in the French capital the former Italian international moved to Monaco where he won Le Championnat in 2000.
Tough fight
Simone, born in Castellanza, north of Milan, has frequently said that the only club he would return to in Italy would be Milan. However, he will face a hard fight to break into the Milan frontline which is currently occupied by Andriy Shevchenko and Filippo Inzaghi.
Moreno fighting for place
Spanish striker Javi Moreno and new Belarussian signing Vitali Kutuzov are the other forwards available to coach Fatih Terim after José Mari was ruled out for at least three months following a knee operation earlier this month. Milan are currently joint top of Serie A with Juventus FC and Internazionale with ten points from four games.
